MININTER WARNS MINING, QUARRRY AND CIVIL WORKS COMPANIES AGAINST NON-COMPLIANCY WITH THE LAW

On Friday 08 March 2024, the Ministry of Interior (MININTER) organized a workshop with mining, quarry and civil works companies that use explosives materials and fireworks to address the issues revealed by the joint inspections conducted by the joint inspection (MININTER, RDF, NISS, RNP, RMB) in November 2023.

The Permanent Secretary, Mr. SESONGA Benjamin, who officiated at the workshop on behalf of the Minister of Interior, expressed his appreciation to the participants for their attendance and their important role in the economic development of our nation.

Participants were informed among other things, that the Ministry of Interior will support and facilitate companies that fulfil the requirements in this sector. However, the Ministry will continue to work together with its stakeholders in the fight against illegal mining and other forms of non-compliancy with the law, which negatively affect the progress of this sector.
