On 31st August 2023, the Ministry of Interior organized a workshop with mining, quarry and civil works companies that use blasting materials to address the issues revealed by the joint inspections conducted by the joint inspection (MININTER, RDF, RNP, RMB) in June 2023.

In his remarks while opening the workshop, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Mr. SESONGA Benjamin, said that this was the opportunity to meet and discuss about the issues noted by inspection team and remind users of explosives the legal requirements and their role in ensuring safety at mines/quarries and surrounding environment.

During the workshop, the participants exchanged ideas on identified issues and came up with recommendations aimed at addressing them.
